Cognitivism and Constructivism are somehow new concepts to me and as I was exploring them, I came across Piaget ( Different Stages of cognitive learning) and Vygotsky ( Learning through social interactions.

Barnet ser sig själv som världens centrum som allting  Piagets stadier över barnets kognitiva utveckling. Piaget ville alltså studera hur barnets tänkande utvecklades och gjorde det genom att ge dem olika problem, tex  Konstruktivism enligt Piaget och Sociokulturell teori enligt Vygotskij. Teorier Den schweiziske filosofen och psykologen Jean Piaget är en av  Piaget's (1936, 1950) theory of cognitive development explains how a child constructs a mental model of the world. He disagreed with the idea that intelligence was a fixed trait, and regarded cognitive development as a process which occurs due to biological maturation and interaction with the environment. Piaget's operativity is considered to be prior to, and ultimately provides the foundation for, everyday learning, much like fluid ability's relation to crystallized intelligence. Piaget's theory also aligns with another psychometric theory, namely the psychometric theory of g, general intelligence. Piaget rejected the idea that learning was the passive assimilation of given knowledge. The late 1950s was the emergence of cognitivism from Piaget’s work in response to behaviourism. ‘Behaviorists acknowledged the existence of thinking, but identified it as a behaviour. Cognitivists argued that the way people think impacts their behaviour and therefore cannot be a behaviour in and of itself.’ (Lilienfeld et al, 2010).
