In 2020, the Wallenberg Foundations jointly contributed with nearly SEK 229 million to research at Karolinska Institutet. Established in 1917, it is especially the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW) – Swden's largest private funder of research – that over the years has funded major investments in infrastructure and grants to individual researchers and projects at KI.
